The Red Melon Sword is an awesome aquarium plant that produces large contrasting red and dark green leaves that is best suited for large aquascapes. As this plant matures, the leaves turn from a brick red to a dark green and red shade. This plant has been cultivated in South America and is now available worldwide.
Echinodorus x barthii grows to a height of 10-20 inches (25-50 cm) and a width of 6-12 inches (15-30 cm). Although hobbyists have grown this plant in low light conditions, this plant will grow stunted and have limited growth.
