This is a mild-mannered medium-sized cichlid that pretty much minds it's own business. The male in this species is more colorful especially during breeding. You should keep several females to each male to keep the stress off of just one female. This cichlid will do well in large groups of other cichlids of the same size, and can even surprisingly defend itself against other larger bully fish.
