Shrimp - Bumble Bee Ninja Caridina breviata a.k.a. Bee Shrimp, Black & White Shrimp, Ninja Shrimp photo credit Thanks to our friend Chris Lukhaup These are one of our newest shrimp that have been sought after by many folks in North America! Max size we have is about 1/2 inch or slightly larger, but on the fat side, unlike most of our other shrimp which are sort of on the "skinny" side. Males and females are colored equally, so sexing them is hard if not impossible. These are a "Cleaner" shrimp, which means they are more of a scavenger/filter feeder, picking debris and detritus off wood, rocks, decorations, etc. These typically like hanging out where there is a good flow of water on large pieces of wood, or in the leaves of plants. They camouflage themselves in the wood like a chameleon. These shrimp usually import from overseas coming in black/yellow but some may turn a red and white color after a few weeks eating our foods. We have not yet successfully bred these ourselves, they are grown by another farm that won't disclose the secrets. We have heard some feedback from a few hobbyists that have accidentally gotten these to reproduce in tanks, but it is uncommon. Stocking Ratio: up to 1 shrimp per 1/2 gallon.
