Caridina japonica

a.k.a. Japanese Marsh Shrimp, or Grass Shrimp, Amano Shrimp  temp: 7 - 28 C  pH: 6 - 8

Size: up to 1.25", pH: 6-8, GH: 8, Temp: 7-28 C, Origin: Japan

These are very popular shrimp mainly due to the exposure they've received with Takashi Amano's series of books. They are very versatile shrimp (like the Red-Cherry Shrimp), and they can handle similar water conditions cold/warm water, acid/alkaline water, hard/soft water. They can be sensitive to very high pH, and having a casualty or two when shipping is not uncommon. Max size we've seen is 1.75". Great for green hair algae and detritus. Size at shipping: about 1/2"+.

Stocking Ratio: 1 or 2 shrimp per 1 gallon.
