Not widely available in the aquarium hobby.  This is a rare find Danio.

Origin: Myanmar, India, Sumatra, Thailand

The Gold-Ring Danio is a “Treasure Hunt” Find!  Very easy to keep, and peaceful fish, well suited for a Nano-type or species tank.  This is a more mellow of fish than other Danio species.  These are not picky eaters and will eat almost anything offered.  Like most of the other danios out there, they are surface feeders.  Females are usually larger and more full bodied.  The males are slightly smaller and slimmer.  Not as easy to breed as some of the other danios like leopard or zebra danios because adult gold-rings usually eat the eggs or frye quickly so this is why this fish is so uncommon in pet stores.  We are trying to change this with our breeders here and help repopulate them into home aquariums.  Enjoy!
