Spiny Tricolor Cleaner Nerite Snail

a.k.a. Spiny 3-color Thorn Snail

Clithon pulchellus lautus

This is a strikingly beautiful tri-colored cleaner snail with astonishing color and looks unlike no other snail you may ever own.  A genuinely freshwater Asian species of dwarf nerite snail.  These spiny colorful snails are among the most distinctive of the nerite species having multi-colored shells.  These snails have a whorl of short, slightly curved spines around the apex of the shell.  This species will do well in brackish to freshwater systems.  Their native habitat is in small streams on algae covered stones and on vegetation stalks.  These snails will clean your glass, rocks, and plant leaves that also include algae types:  Black Beard Algae & Green Hair String Algae.  Very small about the size of a pencil eraser tip.  Beneficial for any planted fresh or brackish system.  Same growth rate and reproduction as our Olive Nerite snails.  Very hard to reproduce.

Stock up to 5 or more snails per gallon.  Lifespan about 2 to 3 years.
