The Buenos Aires Tetra is a South American fish that will make a great addition to any community aquarium.  It has a slender silver body with red fins.  The Buenos Aires Tetra can be housed in an aquarium with other soft water fish.  This is another schooling fish that works well in groups of six or more.  Will do best in heavily planted aquariums to enhance its natural habitat and provide hiding spaces.  This particular Tetra will occasionally prune plant leaves if diet is not sufficient.  Buenos Aires Tetras will also occasionally breed in your aquarium.  Slightly acidic water is best for optimal breeding habits.  After the eggs begin to hatch, removing the parents will reduce the number of lost frye.  It is an amazing sight to see a massive school of these fish in a well-planted tank!
