African Butterfly Fish By: Arizona Aquatic Gardens Part number:
African Butterfly Fish
African Butterfly Fish Pantodon buchholzi Size: up to 4" pH: 6.0-7.5 dH: 2-10 Temp: 70-86F Origin: West Africa Food: New Life Spectrum Surface Feeder Formula found at Fish Foods The Butterfly Fish, also known as the African Butterfly Fish, is generally a good community fish. They can be a bit intolerant of other surface swimming fish when kept solitarily, but when kept in large schools this fish will be more tolerant and accepting of other fish. They are a predator and will eat small fish. But on a positive note, they also become quite tame and will eat food from your fingers. The Butterfly Fish like a loosely planted shallow aquarium best, about 6 to 8 inches (15-20 cm) deep. One that has more length and width to it rather than depth gives them a large surface area. They do like some floating plant cover to lurk under as well. Plants like Anacharis, Frogbit, and Aponogeton work nicely. Size at shipping: about 1.5"+SHIPS GOOD only $0.00
