Broken
Line Royal Pleco L-191 Panaque
nigrolineatus
a.k.a.
Royal Panaque, Royal
Plecostomus, Black-lined Panaque
Size: up to 15 inches
Temp: 74-79°F; pH:

Origin: Rivers of
Venezuela, South America
Food: Some Green Hair or
Filamentous Algae, Algae on Glass, Plants and Rocks.
Supplement with New Life Spectrum
"Community Formula" or "H20 Stable Wafers" found at
Fish Foods
This is a
stunning, and peaceful Pleco that is easy to care for granted you do
not treat the water with medications, or if you do, do so in small
amounts. The medications become concentrated in the algae, and when
the fish eats these, it often is poisoned to death. These fish are
also subject to intestinal disease if not fed the proper diet.
This species grows very slowly and is sensitive to changes in water
chemistry. These plecos often suffer from malnutrition and as
a result are hollow-bellied. Thus it is important to offer them
high-fiber foods in order for them to thrive. Feeding the New
Life Spectrum Wafers and supplement with frozen or fresh spinach
leaf will keep them strong! The Royal Panaque is a challenging
fish to care for, but well worth the effort with its stunning color
pattern and marvelous disposition.

WHAT TO FEED YOUR ALGAE
EATING FISH? For starters remember that the main reason you hired
these little janitors is because they needed to clean your tank or pond up, so let
them work on that first. Most algae eater are scavengers, so they'll
not only eat algae, left over foods and other waste, but also meat.
If you have a loss in the middle of the night, it won't be surprising to
see Mr. SAE sucking on the corpse of your fish the next morning.
Hey man, they gotta get their protein from somewhere! So, to make
sure that your algae eating fish are getting the proper amount of
nutrients and protein, we suggest using New Life Spectrum Foods. Click here for the link.
